Anime - Japanese Animation
Baka - Japanese word for idiot or fool
Loosely put an Anime Baka is someone who's crazy about Anime. However interpretation's may vary. I tend to think of Anime Baka as meaning something like drooling fan boy/girl.
Wrote this a long time ago. Too short for an article:
Perverted - Hentai in Japanese. But the word pervert means deviation from normal or accepted. So, how can all guys be perverts?
Did you ever notice that the sex scene in the movie is generally at about the same realative place as the guitar solo in a song?
A Bit about my Musical Tastes
I have a tendency to like all sorts of music. This has had me going to see Sara McLachlan one weekend and Metallica the next although it's been awhile since I was regularly going to concerts. My musical tastes switch around and I get tired of listening to the same thing also it varies with mood. I love to listen to loud rocking music while driving and on a long drive home at night it helps keep me awake (not the time to put on that Celtic Lullabies CD).
About the only music I'm not really into is Rap and Hiphop. For some reason that musical culture never really got me although there is some Korean stuff that's pretty cool. Did I mention that I don't necessarily stick to English stuff? If I find a sound I like language is of little importance. I love watching the Music Videos from India when we go a certain restaurant in San Francisco. Most of the songs are banter duets with lots of flashy dancing; very fun. I have to imagine the lyrics, but it's all very pretty and the emotions come across the languages.
I love Celtic music, always have. Bevy is playing a video game lately with a Celtic score and it's always pleasant in the background. Japanese Rock and Pop have recently piqued my interest and I have several favorite artists. It also helps that I understand a little of the language. Thai music is very dance party oriented and is rather fun.
For American music I like a bunch of stuff. I do avoid Country in large doses lest something bad happen to my dog on the way to pick up grandma from the jail, but I was right there three rows back when LeAnn Rimes came to town (before she was well known). Swing is way cool. Rhythm and Blues are kinda lazy cool and wonderful live. Classic rock is great. Hard stuff is kinda hit or miss, some are great and some aren't, but then most classic rock were rather one hit wonders.
I love funny stuff and consider Wierd Al to be absolutely wonderful. I'm still searching for a CD with "Polkadot Undies" on it. Dr. Demento is a blast, although I havent listened to him in years. I think he's on the internet now.
