Anime Baka

Anime - Japanese Animation
Baka - Japanese word for idiot or fool

Loosely put an Anime Baka is someone who's crazy about Anime. However interpretation's may vary. I tend to think of Anime Baka as meaning something like drooling fan boy/girl.

Wrote this a long time ago. Too short for an article:
Perverted - Hentai in Japanese. But the word pervert means deviation from normal or accepted. So, how can all guys be perverts?

Did you ever notice that the sex scene in the movie is generally at about the same realative place as the guitar solo in a song?

2009-06-18 Burma - Union of Myanmar -SUCKS!
Been meaning to write about this. A few weeks Bevy and I netflixed (new verb) the new Rambo movie. We were expecting blood, gore, bullets and knives. We were not expecting brutal reality, but that's what we found. This story opened our eyes to horrors that are happening there now. People are being killed for no reason. Women are being raped to subject them and their people. This is one of the worst countries on earth.

The 2008 Rambo movie is about John Rambo and has him a bit older piloting a boat in Thailand and trying to be a normal person. Well a group of missionaries kanoodles him into taking them into Burma. He gets them to where they want to go, but then later finds out that they were captured by the military. He then goes on a raid with some mercenaries to try and recuse them.

That's the basic story, but the surrounding story is much, much more elaborate. You see in Burma, the government is a Military Dictatorship with guns bristling from their teeth. So you'd think that Burma was at war with one of the neighboring countries, huh? Nope. Burma is at war with it's own civilians. That is they kill, torture and rape them. In the movie soldiers are shown playing a game where they make villagers race each other through a mine laden rice patty while placing bets. It's pretty grim there and I suggest you read more and get upset more. Kinda makes Iraq look like a friendly place.

In may of last year Cyclone Nargis ripped through Burma killing hundreds of thousands and injuring many more. Relief aid was organized and sent with food, medicine and supplies, but was stopped at the boarder by the government as the idea of foreigners in their country was much more alarming than the deaths of thousands of civilians.

The military uses sexual violence as a means of control and keeps sex slaves as well as forced laborers and forced children laborers. They recently had a vote on a new constitution. Voters showing up to the poling places were told they had already voted, or given already filled out ballots. The government announced that 92.5% of voters approved the constitution and 98% of voters turned out. That was last year. This is bad, really bad. This is now.

Please read up, please talk to others, please at least be angry about this. Watch the movie if you can take it (it is very, very bloody and accurately depicts real warfare). Possession of the Movie is a crime in Burma, punishable by ten years in prison or death. The guy acting the part of the head bad guy in the movie is Burmese and expects his family has been executed for his role in it. He did it anyway, hoping to bring this story to you.
