Anime - Japanese Animation
Baka - Japanese word for idiot or fool
Loosely put an Anime Baka is someone who's crazy about Anime. However interpretation's may vary. I tend to think of Anime Baka as meaning something like drooling fan boy/girl.
Wrote this a long time ago. Too short for an article:
Perverted - Hentai in Japanese. But the word pervert means deviation from normal or accepted. So, how can all guys be perverts?
Did you ever notice that the sex scene in the movie is generally at about the same realative place as the guitar solo in a song?
Movie - Hanibal Rising 5 out of 5
We're not big on horror movies, but the Hanibal series of movies isn't exactly horror; it's more disturbing. Well a few nights ago we decided to get disturbed and we indeed became so. This movie is very disturbing. It starts off pleasant and the creepy factor just keeps intensifying until it's downright creepy by the ending. I think both of us were secretly cheering for young Hanibal to take his revenge.
The story is about young Hanibal and his horrible growing years starting with the later part of WWII and the Germans retreating and the Russians advancing. His homeland is right in the middle of it; perhaps east Germany. He very quickly losses his parents and then his sister under horrible circumstances. He is assigned to an orphanage in what used to be his own home; a huge manor/castle.
He escapes and goes to Paris where he believes he has relatives. There he meets his aunt, a young widowed Japanese woman and she takes him in. From there he matures and studies to become a doctor while searching for information on the men who murdered (and ate) his sister Misha. The story ends with the brutal conflicts with these men. These men serve to teach Hanibal the level of brutality that he is later known for. It is by becoming a monster that he is able to overcome these monsters.
In the end I felt sorry for Hanibal. I wondered if I, given the same road, would not end up on the same path as he. The answer is something I care not to think about too much.
